2nd Math Class Improves Student's State Exam Scores
Pittsburgh, PA
Faison Intermediate Campus
The majority of students at Faison Intermediate were failing the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA). To prepare for the PSSA, the school utilized the 4Sight replication exam 3 to 4 times a year to assist in instruction and to facilitate student practice. An Apangea Math class was developed in which students in 7th and 8th grade met for 40 minutes, 5 days a week from January until May. The 4Sight passing percentage increased from 36% to 73% and parents even asked if their children could possible continue usage of Apangea Learning over the summer!
