Whole Student
It goes beyond great content!
At Apangea Learning, we recognize that in order to help a student achieve, you need to address the whole student. Providing content knowledge is simply one part of the academic puzzle. Beyond this, students need to also learn critical cognitive thinking skills. Additionally, students need to be motivated to learn. Some students are self-motivated; some are not. But when students are motivated to learn and they succeed, something magical happens: their academic self-esteem improves. And as their academic self-esteem increases so does their motivation to learn!
We developed SmartHelp with the whole student in mind, carefully linking each of the four critical elements of the whole student experience:
Cognitive Thinking Skills
SmartHelp teaches students critical cognitive skills that teach students a process for thinking. SmartHelp students develop proven strategies for breaking down problems into manageable pieces and successfully solving them.
Content Scaffolding
SmartHelp provides students with the content and skills they need, when they need it. Our proven scaffolding technique enables students to successfully learn faster
Motivation
SmartHelp provides a two-part motivation program that drives student success. Our SmartRewards program rewards students with gift cards for consistent effort and achievement. In addition, Apangea Learning conducts contests to encourage students to use SmartHelp on their personal time. The result? Our students are driven to use SmartHelp — even on nights and weekends. And so can yours.
Academic Self-Esteem
Far too often, student self-esteem is overlooked. SmartHelp constantly adapts to reward students at different levels for their efforts, thereby increasing student academic self-esteem. And as you know, when self-esteem goes up, achievement goes up as well.
The Bottom Line SmartHelp addresses the whole student!
